COLLABORATING IN SIEM REAP, KAMPONG CHAM AND KAMPONG SPEUSovithiea
The Australian Embassy, in collaboration with the Cambodian Government Ministry of Women’s Affairs, Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of Interior and the Disability Action Council, recently conducted a series of sub-national workshops to engage key government and non-government stakeholders from three priority provinces (Siem Reap, Kampong Cham and Kampong Speu) to discuss the implementation and coordination of the Australia – Cambodia Cooperation for Equitable and Sustainable Services (ACCESS). Facilitating collaboration among diverse stakeholders, ACCESS is contributing to enhanced access to services and rights for persons with disabilities and women affected by gender-based violence (GBV).
ACCESS will deliver a comprehensive set of activities in these provinces to support access to services for persons with disabilities and women affected by violence. This includes support for the establishment and/or strengthening of GBV and disability coordination and referral mechanisms, physical rehabilitation services, access to economic opportunities for persons with disabilities, and access to health care, legal protection services and other critical social services for women affected by violence.
The workshops were attended by over 200 stakeholders.
