Mr Tam Kim Heang : Bench Technician at the Physical Rehabilitation Centre in Siem Reap

Mr Tam Kim Heang finds happiness in providing crucial physical  rehabilitation  services  to  beneficiaries,   as it reminds him of similar services and physical empowerment that he previously benefited from. Leaving with a physical impairment, Mr Tam Kim Heang heard about the services available at the Physical Rehabilitation Centre (PRC) in the Siem Reap province from a PRC’s client. Upon visiting the centre, he received a prosthetic which gave him the ability to walk and conduct everyday activities. Later, he became a security guard at the same PRC. However, he was eager to learn from the technicians there and wanted to help other persons with disabilities to thrive in their everyday lives. Testament to his determination, he was promoted to the position of bench technician at the PRC, where he is able to assist the production of prosthetics, orthotics, and assemble wheelchairs that are checked by Prosthetist and Orthotist before being fitted on beneficiaries.
