Persons with disabilities’ voice inspires local initiatives toward empowerment and social inclusion practices in Cambodia

We recently visited Prey Veng, Tboung Khmum, and Kampong Cham provinces with government agencies and development partners including the MoSVY Cambodia, UNICEF Cambodia and UNDP Cambodia to observe the progress of Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and their collaboration with local authorities toward the promotion of inclusive social protection at the sub-national level.
We also visited a physical rehabilitation centre in Kampong Cham to learn about the progress on the various services being provided at the centre.
🇦🇺 is proud of our longstanding support to Cambodia including the development of the Identification of Poor (IDPoor) Database that underpins the implementation of social protection programs in Cambodia, in addition to our support for the management of physical rehabilitation centres around the country.
The highlight of the visit was seeing the acceptance and promotion of inclusive social protection interventions at the grassroots level, which help improve the social economic status of persons with disabilities in their own communities.
